Randy Leopando, BS, CSCS, FMS
Randy is a fitness industry veteran of nearly 30 years. He started his professional fitness journey by earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology and Pre-Physical Therapy from Truman State University. During his academic career he interned at various outpatient physical therapy clinics allowing him to experience different types of physical rehabilitation. He took this experience and became a personal trainer with NutriFormance. Randy was then promoted to Director of Personal Training where he worked that role for the next 18 years.
Over the years Randy has been very active in the fitness community. He lectured in the St. Louis area for various organizations, and has been featured in the local TV news fitness segments. Topics included weight training for special populations, balance training, home exercises, functional training, sports-specific training, and return-to-sport post rehab conditioning. He has written articles or featured as a subject matter expert for a number of publications including Mens Fitness, Muscle and Fitness, National Fitness and Trade Journal, CanFitPro, and the Health & Fitness Association (formerly IHRSA). Randy served on the test item writing committee for American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer certification exam. He was also a committee member for the National Strength and Conditioning Association-Missouri Chapter, and a CEU provider for Resist-a-ball.
Randy took a brief hiatus from the gym scene and worked for a global fitness equipment manufacturer. As the Training and Education Manager, he collaborated with the engineering, sales, and marketing departments on various projects and/or support. He also provided support to gym operators from around the world on the features and benefits of the product portfolio.
Randy believes being active and being physically fit is more than just looking good. It helps with all functions of the body, both physically and mentally.
