What are Hybrid Group Training classes?

Hybrid Group Personal Training classes are designed around an intense, yet individualized, metabolic training concept consisting of the most advanced training modalities and tools available and taught by our advanced personal trainers. The stations are composed of major movements the body naturally recognizes:

  • metabolically demanding exercises that enhance motor skills and cardiovascular parameters
  • strength, power and endurance exercises that challenges the muscles and energy systems.
  • calisthenics that improve flexibility and body awareness
  • balance and stability exercises that enhance posture and body alignment.

Why is it called “Hybrid” Group Training?

Definition of Hybrid: “having two or more components working together that produce the same or similar results.”

Hybrid circuits, developed by Randy Leopando, combine fitness components of endurance, agility, power, balance, and functional strength with an effort to provide an alternative method of training that is safe, fun, efficient and effective. Every exercise can be modified to accommodate any fitness level.

Timed Intervals

A timer is set for 30 seconds of exercise, 30 seconds rest. The goal is to provide 30 seconds of muscle “time under tension”. Research has proven that this time under tension gives the best results when goals are muscle strength and endurance. The tempo of this class is relative to the individual with the goal of completing as many safe repetitions as you can within the given time.

How often do the exercises or circuits change?
Exercises and format will change every month. The basic science is that the body adapts to a routine every 4-6 weeks. We want you to feel yourself improve as the end of the month nears. The more efficient you get simply means you have improved your strength and cardiovascular fitness. Having a routine allows your body to make adaptations, i.e. improvements in tone, strength, endurance, flexibility, balance. This is a proven fact!

Some exercises are too hard/easy for me.
Since a certified personal trainer is instructing we have the ability to make changes on-the-fly as needed. It would be our pleasure to make an exercise harder for you, or we can certainly make adjustments if you have a pre-existing condition. And if you do not remember an exercise, just look at or ask the person at the station ahead of you.
