Certified Pilates Instructor
Diane has been teaching classical Pilates in Los Angeles since 2003. She recently moved back to her hometown St. Louis, where she is a Pilates instructor for the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University, her alma mater. Diane is a third generation, Classical Pilates instructor. She was certified by Jill Cassady who studied with and taught alongside Pilates elders Romana Kryzanowska and Ron Fletcher. Diane teaches the Method in five progressive levels and focuses on technique, alignment, and imparting the Six Guiding Principles. When needed, she also incorporates other therapeutic methods and props. Her approach stems from Joe Pilates’ philosophy that “it is the mind itself which truly shapes the body.” Clients have described working with her as: healing, humorous, and exacting.
Diane has worked with men and women of all ages and abilities, and specializes in helping those who have been injured or are dealing with chronic physical challenges. In LA, she taught for Mari Winsor, one of the most recognized names in Pilates, and she has been an avid student of many other schools of thought on the healthy development of mind, body and spirit for over 30 years.
Some of the clients Diane has had the pleasure of working with over the years are: Olympic gold-medal swimmer Ous Mellouli; photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn (U2, Depeche Mode); actor Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy); and actress Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice).
