For all you cardio geeks I am going to post the workout options available on each piece of new equipment. A recent study showed that cardiovascular exercise is still the best for burning belly fat.
The Life
Fitness Treadmills will be first. Cardio theater on the new treadmills operates from the keypad on the bottom left. The setting you are looking for is AUX and the headphones plug into the bottom of the console.
I would urge you to try the workout programs. the speed interval is killer and a one touch option, Random, heart rate extreme are all favorites. Don’t just get on the treadmill and not challenge yourself. Us these new treads to the fullest!
Some of the new programs include:
Quickstart- the fastest way to begin exercising. After the quickstart key is pressed, a manual workout begins immediately.
Random- is an interval training workout constantly changing intensity levels that occur in no regular patter or progression.
Hill- is an interval training workout. intervals are periods of intense aerobic exercise separated by regular periods of low-intensity exercise.
Speed Interval (my new favorite) enables the user to toggle between two chosen speeds with the touch of a single button.
Sport Training- 5 or 10K options accessible through the PERSONAL TRAINER workout button. It is designed to assist runners in training for distance races.
Heart Rate courses- (Hill, Interval, Extreme, Fat burn, Cardio)- all various individualized programs based on your personal heart rate response. Must be wearing a polar heart rate monitor to do these workouts.
Fit Tests- Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, WFI (Fire Fighters) and law enforcements assessment batteries. If you want to test yourself against our nations best this is the place to do it!
